Puppies, Kittens and Absolute Bedlam

My best girl Taylor (Austrailian cattle dog) has had a little one to be precise she had two, but one didn't survive. Small puppies are so helpless maybe that's why they smell so bad. Trying to come up with name nothing clicks. Cindy has named the puppy Thaddeus I am not sure how to spell but it seems to fit.

Back to trying to write again, seems so busy and so much to think about in the mornings. Business has been crazy and I must write a piece on the adventures of Robert Edmondson and what ever that was about.

On a good note a little winter soup couldn't hurt or at least not a lot. A few words on fats specifically trans fats that seem to be all the rage today I even heard an add for a soup that "uses no transfats" in their Lipton soup. Pleeeeease

Trans fats are simply hydrogenated oils for the most part hydrogenated palm oil using hydrogen injection What it should say is transfats are poison to your body please do not eat. We have no way to digest of filter from our bodies this is a poison and all the him and hawing in the world wont change this.

Made beef noodle soup over weekend had leftovers last night, not to bad. Obviously liked my own cooking this winter put on 10 pounds and unfortunately as I get older it all ends up around my middle.

Beef Noodle Soup

  • 2 cups chopped onion
  • 1 cups chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup beef base
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

  • 11-1/2 cups water
  • 5 cups frozen egg noodles (one package)
DIRECTIONS:
  1. In a large heavy saucepan over medium high heat, saute the stew meat, onion, celery and garlic for 5 minutes, or until meat is browned on all sides. Important to taste do not cook the meat done you are only browning and creating a seasoning rue in the pan. 5 minutes means 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the bouillon, parsley, ground black pepper and salt, tarragon, carrot, frozen stew vegetables and water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. Add frozen noodles and simmer 30 more minutes
