Arrogance manifested it self, warming of the earth was anthropogenic in nature i/e humankind influenced this warm up. He and his kind are far more dangerous than your average corporate polluter who poisons a relatively small area the ardent environmentalist "eco-streamest" would fix what did not need fixing: as an example sequestering CO2 in the depths of the oceans, get it out of the air and change the pH of the oceans which kills our living oceans and conversely all of us, Good job Mr Gore maybe another Nobel prize or Oscar for your showcase. His admittance that not all of the "facts" were true but that was OK, it raised awareness of the problem. If the problem is defined incorrectly then the solution would be incorrect. GIGO*In an attempt to be fair, he is not a scientist and has to rely on his experts, some total of your knowledge should not come from your admirers, employees or family. Best information is what you find in your own research if in trying to read and understand a report or abstract you do not understand the vernacular stop and learn the vernacular. Never except a piece of research as truth without seeing who is sponsoring it (paying hard cash).
Maybe the talent he has is delivering a message and more importantly attracting some good people who have gone on to make a legitimate difference, a prime example is Carol Browner* who was the longest reigning head of the EPA since its inception. Although I find my self at odds with ardent environmentalism and any other "there is but one truth group". She has the guts and connections to do a good job as energy czar in President Elect Obama cabinet. I strongly disagree with her position of trying to sell the ports of New York to Dubai Ports World, but we are becoming a World economy. In my opinion we should never sell are infrastructure to entities out side of the US, neither friend or foe.
I was involved with Dennis Weaver, Cindy and I were staying at their house (Earthship) in Ridgway Colorado. 
We were having breakfast and I saw him pouring water through a device that was supposed to purify the water and ionicly align the molecules with a pour through. We were talking and the device was on the counter it had instructions stamped into the metal in German. I started to read and what this said was the piece was built to be in line on a water supply with at least 3 atm of pressure to divert from one line to another. When I asked, Dennis told me he had paid $600 for the water magnetic ion aligner/cleaner. It was in fact designed for the feed line on a steam boiler. In my naivety, I explained what it was and what the translation said. I angered him big time but not by design. Remember select your enemy's as carefully as you select your friends.

Maybe it was drought conditions that ruined crops and turned areas of the country into a dust bowl. Checked the last 150 years of data for Dickson TN it actually shows an increase in precipitation, I continue the search, maybe the problem was in Washington DC where Mr Gore lived part of the time, off to Washington we go.
Welcome to Washington, DC I started to look for the nearest USHCN (United States Historical Climatology Network) reporting station, Milford DE. I contacted and asked about the global warming issue in Washington area, they said they only had records from 1870 to present but they could send them over. At last I was going to see what Mr Gore was concerned about.
I was horrified to see that the mean temperature had risen 2 tenths of 1 degree in the last 136 years. You would think just the pure volume of hot air that is produced, in the 151 days that congress meets, would have driven it up at least 1/2 degree F.
Maybe what I needed was to talk to my son, he is well educated and exceptionally bright (I'm not biased) the closest reporting station to him was Hoopston, IL
